Out of School Hours Care
Bilgola OOSH is dedicated to creating a loving and joyful space where children feel safe, supported, and inspired to explore their ideas and interests. Our mission is to provide affordable out-of-school hours care that brings peace of mind to parents and caregivers and lasting memories for children. Our practices are deeply aligned with the My Time Our Place framework, ensuring that children and young people's learning and development is nurtured through a balance of play, exploration, and planned experiences.
Child Safety Statement
At Bilgola Plateau Public School OOSH, the safety and wellbeing of every child is our top priority. We follow the National Model Code for Taking Images or Videos of children. We are committed to providing a safe environment and have stringent policies and procedures in place. Educators are not permitted to use personal phones or smart watches; we use service owned devices for taking photographs and videos. Photographs and videos are captured for programming purposes, including documentation in our floor book and sharing with families through our secure platform, Xplor.
We have zero tolerance for any form of harm or abuse. All educators are trained in child protection and follow clear procedures to keep children safe.
Our Philosophy
Bilgola OOSH acknowledges and thanks the Traditional Custodians of the land on which our OOSH is located, recognising that their deep care for Country influences how we care for and appreciate the beautiful environment around us.
We aim to provide an environment that is welcoming, safe, fun, flexible, and homely. Children and Young People are placed at the centre of their learning—we see them as capable, knowledgeable individuals who lead their own unique journey of play and discovery.
We walk alongside children and young people, sharing in their adventures through supportive and reciprocal relationships. We believe in their fundamental right to play, and value both structured and unstructured play spaces.
We believe in taking our shoes off, in playing with mud, in creating fairy gardens, cubby houses, fortresses, and castles.
Children’s health, safety, and happiness are our highest priorities, reflected in all aspects of our service. We see educators as advocates for children’s rights and believe children are our most important stakeholders.
We value families and community, fostering an inclusive and welcoming environment where everyone is respected, supported, and accepted without bias or prejudice.
